Why LaLa Thinks You’re Beautiful

Here at LaLa, we believe every woman at Purdue is beautiful and should feel that way every day! That is why we are making it our mission to promote healthy body image around campus. So do us a favor and erase the media’s perception of what you are “supposed” to look like. It’s time for a revolution! That’s right. LaLa is redefining beauty.

What do you think makes someone beautiful? Stamp out that image of blaringly white teeth, perfectly perky double D’s, and mile high tanned legs.  Barbie is a plastic doll made by Matel, remember? Think beauty. Real beauty. You know, the kind that comes from the inside and pours out of you like sunshine. This kind of beauty doesn’t come in a tube or a wand. Confidence is beautiful. Loving yourself is beautiful. Working hard to achieve your goals is beautiful.

Now here is a statement that no woman can disagree with. A female’s body shouldn’t be treated as an object that needs to be corrected. Our bodies deserve to be loved and celebrated-no matter what our size or shape.  So nourish your body with things that make you happy, whether it’s splurging on a pair of colossal red stilettos or eating half a gallon of Cherry Garcia ice cream. Forget what the media tells us. Happiness is beautiful! Plain and simple!

Though LaLa is a fashion and lifestyle publication, we don’t play by the rules of other magazines. We passionately promote happiness and confidence through fashion, creativity, intelligence and global awareness. We print real women in our pictures and we write about real women in our articles. Seems like a no brainer to us! Finally, what every girl needs, a “pro-you” publication!  Remember, be strong, be confident, and be happy. LaLa thinks you’re beautiful.
