We’ll admit it, as much as our antiestablishment souls are begging us not to, we can’t help but tap our foot and give in to a nice Katy Perry jam session every now and then (phew…. that feels better getting it off our chests). But let’s be honest, one can only listen to “Last Friday Night” so many times before they’re actually driven to take “too many shots” to ease the pain of hearing that saxophone solo thirteen times in a row, which is why we’ve decided to upgrade your summer soundtrack with a few tunes you won’t be hearing on the radio anytime soon. There’s just something about these songs that makes us want to wear oversized black-framed glasses (see here) and a beanie (despite the 98-degree weather) while sitting in an ambiguous coffee shop, devouring macaroons… ah, the life of an urban hipster. Take us there, would you?
